Sunny Afternoon Nap

"Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world,
had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then
lay down on our blankets for a nap."
BARBARA JORDAN

Sun beams stream into the living room, making it so easy to succumb to the warm seduction of a nap. For me, there's nothing quite so luxurious as having the freedom to let yourself drift off for a few moments in the middle of the day. The heaviness of drooping eyelids seem to outweigh the book wavering in one's hand and the head drops to one side in delightful snooze.

Miss Kitty has been calling me....it seems she's been feeling the pull for a nap too and wants me to join her.  How can I say no?

Wishing you a pleasant afternoon,
Brenda

  1. I'm with YOU!! You make it sound so hypnotically inviting! Yes, it is wonderful to have the freedom to nap! Did I tell you earlier that my husband falls asleep at the drop of a hat and once while trying to stay awake, fell asleep standing up eating popcorn! Now I'm feeling very tired, your post is so suggestive, but I do NOT want to nap after 6:00 P.M.!

  3. Nothing better indeed. I had a ten minute nap this afternoon in the sun...not long enough! Love the way you describe giving in to the sleepiness.

  4. Of *course* naps are essential! Isn't *that* what we've been saying all along?
