Favorite Snoozle Spots

Cats truly have one of life's great pleasures figured out. And Miss Kitty is ahead of the class on that one, for she knows all the wonderful places for naps in every corner of the house. There's that sunny spot that arrives at a certain time of day... nestled in the centre of one of her favourite chairs, tucked in a quiet out-of-the way corner for a really serious snoozle... atop a willing lap where half-naps and gentle chin tickles occur at the same time.

* * *

I have my own list of favourite snoozle spots...

Under a palm tree on a sandy beach in Maui

In a sunny bedroom where gentle summer breezes
billow lacy curtains

Nestled beneath a downy comforter on a rainy day
Beside the warmth of a fireplace on a wintry evening

In a nice hotel room after a busy tourist-y day,
just before you dress for dinner

Stretching out on a blanket under the trees
after an alfresco lunch in the park

It feels so luxurious and wonderful -- just thinking about those places makes me feel mellow.  Do you have a favourite place where naps peacefully unfold?

Hope there are some blissful moments tucked into your Saturday!

  1. They all look and sound great!! I have curled up on the deck with a blankie in the sun and dozed off on more than one occasion!

  5. What a wonderfully peacefully picture of restfullness in the sun! It reminds me of the peace we can have when we rest completly in Him. I'll go for your idea of the comforter in the rain! Rainy weather is always the best for me to sleep. This is an interesting post, and I've not read any quite like it. I am a light sleeper and have a hard time falling asleep, hubby just the opposite! He will sleep in stores, doctor offices, movies and plays! Once when he was trying to stay awake and watch something on T.V., he fell asleep standing up and eating popcorn! So he does not need any special place! I like to have things just so.

  6. I'm reminded of one of my favourite childhood poems:

Cats sleep anywhere, any table, any chair.
Top of piano, window-ledge, in the middle, on the edge.
Open draw, empty shoe, anybody's lap will do.
Fitted in a cardboard box, in the cupboard with your frocks.
Anywhere! They don't care! Cats sleep anywhere.

    So true.

Thanks for your very kind comment for me.

  7. Plainly you have learned much from your cat, proving you are indeed wise for a human. We admire you for that. :-)
