Here's what's sitting in the middle of my kitchen table today. It's the bright spot of colour on this grey-skied Friday morning... a cheerful contrast to the frozen garden still snow bound in the back yard with leafless branches sighing against a silvery grey canvas.
My heart sings for, in spite of the dullness outside, I feel a lightheartedness inside. A smile plays on my face. Tulips make me happy.
And so I offer this little gift to you, dear beautiful friends, with the hope that you are yourself cheered and oh-so-ready for this new weekend. Got plans?
With loving thoughts and a warm hug,
Brenda

Brenda,
ReplyDeleteThese tulips make me happy too-such a beautiful glorious red and it is fringed too!
I think I am going to spend some time outside and may make a Spring Wreath.
Happy Weekend to You!
Jemma
those red tulips make me want to stand tall and sing Hallelujah! I crave fresh flowers in middle February. At the super-market I make a point of pausing where the flowers are...just to look. Last week my friend brought me mini-roses...such a delight! Thank-you for sharing your posies with the rest of us and spreading smiles all over the place!
ReplyDeleteWe are on track for breaking the record for the coldest February ever!
Absolutely lovely, and an unusual variety too.
ReplyDeleteNot a one, though I am smiling just to see your beautiful red tulips.
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda....grandson's basketball game, then his baseball tryouts around noonish tomorrow. Thanks for the lovely tulips today. I have some pretty lilies that have now opened.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. I'm planning to rest this weekend but at least the weather will be nice. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteAren't they gorgeous? Like crimson silk! Yes, we definitely need flowers right now, Brenda.
ReplyDeleteIts difficult to put into words what they do for our hearts!
Spring will be here soon!
This week end I hope to get out in the garden for a little while. I'm optimistic!
Oh how I love the ruffle around the top! It looks like a boa for the tulip.

Such a fancy tulip! She has a ruffled skirt. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Enjoy your weekend ... I had plans to visit my dad, but snow in the forecast has made me cancel that (not for the first time this winter). Wendy
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely tulips! I've only ever seen tulips with a straight edge, these are so interesting.

What a lovely sight this morning! I am bringing a bunch to my mom at her seniors' home.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful day,

Your tulips are a wonderful sight this morning. Love those sweetly ruffled edges. No plans here, just a shuffle from bed to couch and copious cups of tea.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful sight of those intensely colored tulips! Red flowers are my favorite. This weekend I viewed a little cottage that my single daughter wants to buy. It is so sweet and best of all, it is close enough to visit any time! I hope she gets it, fingers crossed! Hope you are having a lovely weekend and thank you for the encouragement. xo Karen
ReplyDeleteTulips are my favorite! Red tulips are the best! They are just the thing to brighten the grays of winter!
ReplyDeleteOh, aren't these just the ticket to brighten the day? Something so extra lovely about fresh flowers at this time of year and you can't beat tulips for the happy vibe they give. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love yellow tulips but red is glorious!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I think I need some beautiful ruffled tulips on this bitterly cold day. Have a good Monday.
