A flowerless room is a soulless room, to my way of thinking;
but even a solitary little vase of a living flower may redeem it.

Oh, Bren ~ what a lovely morning treat! Thank you for the beautiful bloom and words! Wishing you a glorious day.
ReplyDeletehow beautiful peonies, I've never grown any.
ReplyDeleteLike Sandi above, your "glimpses of heaven in unexpected places" is the loveliest of wishes. I'll be thinking of your gorgeous flower while I keep my eyes open this weekend!
ReplyDeleteBless you!
Hi Brenda~ what a gorgeous Peony! They remind me of my grandmother, I adore them!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy those peonies to the very end! They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous peony and lovely colour.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Peonies remind me of my dear sweet mother...they were one of her favorites. And I totally agree with these quotes 100%! Sweet post, Brenda!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a rich color, fitting for a beautiful flower such as this.
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to meet you, Brenda! I believe I killed my peonies when I tried to move them a long time ago. Every year I think I'll plant more and then I get sidetracked. This is a gorgeous bloom!
ReplyDeleteI came here from Dewena's blog after reading your comment about what home means to you, and your love of blogging. Your words expressed my thoughts as well, so I thought we might be kindred spirits! You have a lovely blog and I hope to get more time here. Not always easy is it? Nor the writing! But I do hang in there!
All the best,
Jane
Nice to 'meet' you, Jane! Yes, peonies aren't keen on being replanted. A tip I heard long ago is to make sure the crown isn't covered too much. I always made sure it stuck out a wee bit when I replanted any. Apparently it won't bloom as much otherwise.
DeleteThanks for your lovely comment... I'll come visit soon. Wishing you a beautiful day!
Brenda
Yes! Flowers!!!
ReplyDeleteThis post is so you!
A single peony can bring so much joy, beauty, and aroma to a room. I experienced that just yesterday as a bouquet greeted me walking into the lobby of a nursing home. There were three small vases each containing one beautiful peony...the aroma was light and wonderful as I walked past. Lovely! What a wonderful depth of color to yours!
ReplyDeletewonderful! all of it. Peonies are one of the prettiest pink pleasures earth can boast. I dead-headed ours today with a bit of muse-ful mourning...another peony season in the books!
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful Peony Brenda - Mine are gone now but brought some into the house when they were blooming...they have a way of giving a room a lift! Hope your July is off to a lovely start. Hugs!
