Slowly Shifting Seasons With Giveaways

We had a couple skiffs of snow a few weeks ago -- it was just enough to tease us that winter was coming. Ever since, however, we've had little sign of snow or cold temperatures. Which we're enjoying of course. There was talk of El Nino this winter -- I think we're having some of that right now. Many days are overcast in usual November foggy-like fashion, and afternoons that grow dark early remind us that we're further along in the season than the weather indicates.

Everyone can identify with a fragrant garden, with beauty of sunset, with the quiet of nature, with a warm and cozy cottage. ~ Thomas Kincade

So, I've decided ... it might not be snowing or cold on the outside, but I'm starting to think cozy, warm thoughts on the inside, with lots of twinkle lights everywhere. Today here on our blog we begin the slow shifting away from autumn to winter themes too.

And, here's a heads up that we're hosting a couple of GIVEAWAYS on Friday ... treats to start the weekend and the season off right. On Friday, we'll unveil all.

In the meantime, I hope you've got good things to enjoy and eat, and lovely people to make a fuss over today.

Sending you hugs,
Brenda

  1. The weather certainly is odd at the moment isn't it! xx

  2. We alternate days of heavy rain (not so cold, but damp) with colder, clearer days where we scrape windshields in the morning. Twinkly lights and candles are filling my mind these days, too.

  4. We're hovering around 15C this morning! Ridiculous ... but I'm not complaining about not having the clear snow off the drive just yet ;) I've been lighting the candles each evening to cheer things up inside. Enjoy your day Brenda!

  5. We certainly felt El Nino, as they are saying the storm from the Gulf of Alaska that came through here was due to it. Our power went out, and that was all for us right here, but many close by are still without power. Now a cold front is moving in with very chilly nights. Winter is on the move it seems!

Giveaways are always fun things to do as the holidays approach! :)

  6. It's been amazing weather, hasn't it? We seem to start the week with fresh snow and then it melts off within the week - although I wouldn't be surprised if it stays this time around (definitely shifting to the winter season this week, with cooler temps). I love the bright sparkle the fresh snow adds to brightening up our shorter days. Just this week I brought out some knitting projects to work on - definitely means a shift in seasons for me to do that. ;o) Stay cozy sweet friend!

  8. Brenda, your blog is one of the beautiful spots in my days. Even during my long blog break, I tried to pop by It's a Beautiful Life occasionally, knowing that a visit here would beautify my day.

We're in that shifting season thing too here in the Boise area. Depending on where you live in the valley, you might have snow, you might have rain. By Thanksgiving, though, I think it is supposed to be VERY cold, with highs in the 20's, lows in the teens. So winter is definitely ready for its annual arrival.

    Blessings,
    Patti
