The Count Down Begins. La La La

I wasn't thinking about Christmas and then it snuck up on me. Suddenly I found myself a a day or so ago humming an old familiar line... la-la-la----la-la-la----la-la-luh-la-la----.

"Oh what fun it is to ride....la-la-la-la-la-la-la----laaaaa!"

No doubt you've figured it out. Yes, the little girl in me never tires of that sprightly jingle bell tune. Deck the Halls is right up there as well for creating a general sense of cheerfulness. And what would I do without the wondrous words from Joy to the World to fill me with renewed hope and well-being.

So on this first day of December, I began pulling out a few seasonal pieces.  I'm not in a big rush this year -- I just want to ease into it and build a momentum as the days draw nearer to the big event.

I have to tell you something else ... I was very excited to receive a gift in my inbox yesterday. Now, you may wonder how a gift pops into one's inbox. But there it was, with directions to download the 2013 online interactive Edwardian-themed Advent calendar created by artist Jacquie Lawson.

Courtesy of blogging friend Lorrie at Fabric Paper Thread.  Thank YOU, Lorrie!

I felt like a kid as I waited for December 1st to roll around, so I could open the first window. They have puzzles and Chinese checkers, snowflakes and more. Kitty cats snoozing and dogs going for walks  Oh what fun it is to play ... la-la-la.

I'm assured it is not too late to buy your own copy even thought we're now into December. Here's the link if you need it.

Here's wishing you a cozy start to December,
Brenda

  1. Brenda, we love the calendar too. In fact we have had one for the last three years. This year's is a bit different, but equally lovely....very British too!
