 FRIDAY'S HUNT WITH EDEN HILLS

 For the week of June 17th
One. Starts with Y
Two. Week's Favourite
Three. In My Shoes

ONE. Starts with Y ... The Colour Yellow
 The color between orange and green in the color spectrum

Yellow-Petaled Pansies
One of the more fragrant of the pansy family

Yellow-Centred Crocus
A flower from which the world's sought-after saffron is harvested

The comforting soft yellow light of a lamp
As evening shadows gather

Quotes Starting With "Y" Words...
* * *
 Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world.
Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.
Rumi

You can complain because roses have thorns,
or you can rejoice because thorns have roses.
~ Ziggy

* * *

You need to learn how to select your thoughts
just the same way you select your clothes every day.
This is a power you can cultivate.
~ Elizabeth Gilbert, "Eat, Pray, Love"

Two. Week's Favourite
Our Mock Orange
This shrub is creating a flurry of gorgeous in the corner of my garden today. I love how the blue, clear sky creates a perfect foil for her white petals. I so wish I could capture the sweet fragrance that is wafting on the breezes -- I'd share it with you. All this beauty right outside my kitchen window. So much for which to be grateful!

Three. In My Shoes

My black L.L. Bean comfy slippers

The shoes meant for indoors only--haha--except I wear them when I sit on the deck, when I'm taking out just this little bag of garbage, or, when I'm off to pick a little posy and I really won't step in the dirt to reach for that blossom. Aha ...

On that note, I'm wishing you from the bottom of my heart,
a pleasant and heart-comforted weekend!

With love and hugs,
Brenda

  1. You do such beautiful work with your blog! I'm reminded of the mock orange that my grandmother grew. Such an aroma!! I make myself take my comfy slippers off in lieu of outside slip-ons when I head outside. It's so tempting to keep them on! xo Nellie

  6. Yellow is such a great color. I'll add it to any other color that I might wear or even around the house. I think it goes with everything!

  7. Oh I love LL Bean slippers and I am glad that you do, too. I also tend to use mine in the great world beyond, too. I had no idea that saffron came from crocus centers. Wonderful to learn new things.

  10. Lovely, Brenda. I am partial to yellow myself. I love the lamplight in your sitting room :) I've always wanted a mock orange.....love the quotes, especially the Elizabeth Gilbert quote. Comfy shoes are the only ones I wear now....life is too short to walk in uncomfortable shoes! Sending hugs and blessings xo Karen
