The Beautiful Matters

'Polish Spirit' Clematis -- photo from my garden in a previous summer

Deborah at The Beautiful Matters recently shared a posting that, upon my reading of it, made me feel almost as if I were listening to my own heartbeat... for her message so eloquently echo my own thoughts on the matter of beauty and its importance in our up-side-down world.

If you've ever wondered if it's frivolous to desire to live a beautiful life in a world fraught with so much pain and suffering, then I hope you will take a moment to read Deborah's post Why the Beautiful Matters. She opens her heart to us as she shares her thoughts about beauty being vital to our well-being both as individuals and in our society.

"In every (woman's) heart there is a secret nerve that answers to the vibrations of beauty." ~ Christopher Morley

Wishing you glimpses of heaven in unexpected places,

  1. Just took an early morning walk in the coolness before the sun comes up and witnessed a beautiful sunrise on a new day of promise!

  2. That was a beautiful post and reminded me of many of yours and of Brenda's ( Coffee Tea Books and Me), too.

  3. Thank you for sharing Deborah's blog post. I just warmed my heart and I realized (again) that there is beauty all around and to stop and appreciate it.
Your blog does the very same thing for me, appreciate beauty in the simple things around me.
Enjoy the rest of your beautiful weekend!

  4. Thanks for sharing Deborah's blog with us. I am excited to read it, for I believe the very same thing...that we thrive on beauty.

  7. Ahhhhh.... here in blogland we are surrounded by the beauty of kindred spirits. I thank each of you for the joy of traveling this way together for a while, sharing what we see as beautiful and making a difference in our own corners of the world.

    You bless me, dear friends!

  8. thank you so much Brenda for the beautiful compliment of featuring my blog. Yes, one of the biggest surprises and blessings of blogging has been the wonderful community of bloggers I've met. As Anne says (something like), there's more kindred spirits out there than I ever thought. Thank you again, my friend.

  9. Your message and Deborah's both echoed my own thoughts. Thank you for sharing - I feel affirmed in my love of beauty! I love what you said about it being important in our up-side-down world. Oh, indeed.
