Autumn Stars

What fun ...

For the first time in a very long time I bought a pumpkin to carve for tomorrow evening's Halloween tr-eaters. I was inspired by Susan Branch's post where she carved her pumpkins with stars instead of scary faces. Now that's my kind of pumpkin carving.

If I were to do it again, I'd made the stars smaller so the light shining through would be more twinkly. However, in the dark, it still looked pretty cool. Can't wait to set it out tomorrow.

We baked the stars in the oven later and poured a wee bit of maple syrup over them.  Mmmm... they were heavenly.

Star Light Star bright,
The first star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.

Hugs,
Brenda

  1. What a lovely idea to bake those stars and eat them! Like you, I carved a pumpkin (3 little ones) for the first time in years. I did make silly faces and not stars. Perhaps next year.

    Wishing you a star-studded night.

I LOVE the idea of cutting stars rather than scary faces. Perfect.

  7. Like others, I had never thought of baking the stars, what a great idea! I have to say, I'm not a big fan of Halloween, and am glad the whole thing is over, but the starry pumpkins are a wonderful idea for harvest fun. I'll have to try and remember this for next year.
