Although many of us have probably heard it before, this piece attributed to Mother Teresa is worth a reminder as it illustrates a vibrant picture of what walking 'on earth as it is in heaven' looks like in working clothes -- it's just doing the right thing...anyway.
People are often unreasonable and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you.
Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.
~ Mother Teresa

Mother Theresa is one of my heroines. My sheltering will never compare to hers. I'm so thankful she left some inspiring words behind.
ReplyDeleteMy Sweet Friend!
ReplyDeleteI have not forgotten you; just been terribly self-absorbed! I feel your good thoughts and love from afar and thank you. Hope all is well with you. Sometimes it feels like morning will never come. It does. And you seem to show up with that reminder!
Sending you hugs from a cool South,
M
I am not Catholic - so I really don't understand what they mean by making someone a Saint. But if my mind - I think of her as a saint - I don't worship her - but I love her very much. Sandie
ReplyDeleteI've always loved that quote by Mother Theresa, Brenda. It's very hard to do but it's true that we should aspire to those things. Take care. Susan
