Garden Glimpses

The thyme loves to spread out amongst the flagstones

Our Toba Hawthorne...

...coming into its pink glory!

An unusual sighting for my backyard ~
this pretty butterfly one really loved the lilac bush!

Nothing like a day at the water park!
(Hard to zoom in quick enough to catch them in action - hence the blurr)

"Never lose an opportunity of seeing
anything that is beautiful;
for beauty is God's handwriting ~
a wayside sacrament.

Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower,
and thank God for it as a cup of blessing."

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Enjoy your day,

  2. I think I saw that very same butterfly here a couple of days ago. I haven't seen him/her or any of his relatives since!

Beautiful pictures, Brenda. I really like the pinks flowers/blossoms.

  5. Can't believe it! I just read that Emerson quote a few minutes before visiting your blog Brenda! Whenever something like that happens, I think God is trying to tell me something. I'm going to have to go back and reread it. Those are beautiful roses. We have lots of buds here, but only Paul's Himalayan Musk has opened yet. Looks like the cool weather has been a real boon to the bushes.

  7. Hi Brenda. Thanks for visiting my blog via Mr. Puddy. (Isn't he fun?)
Love your flower photos. I've been thinking of planting thyme but never know what kind to get for the Medicine Hat area where we have such extremes of weather (this year we're featuring wet).
