Your boxes are lovely... I have a number of them in which I have collected everything from photos to travel brochures and nostalgic mementos from our trips. What a beautiful way to "store" them until I can organize them better. I chuckled at the Autograph Book entries; I had one of those in the early 70s and I think it was probably about that humorous. And oh, your photos from the gardens... makes me anxious to see more. :)

Blessings...Charm and Gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04930920593855400694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-6999060971310912222017-02-25T18:20:10.364-07:002017-02-25T18:20:10.364-07:00I don't know what I like most from this entry,...I don't know what I like most from this entry, but the picture of Sissinghurst Castle Garden looks a bit like a secret, magical garden. :)

-Merry

P.S. Yes, pick up your needle & thread and stitch yourself a pretty little heart ... those are so sweet :) I remember the rage of autograph books in my youth too, but I never owned one myself. I wrote a post about my great aunt's autograph book on my blog (oddly enough, it was also written at Valentine's Day). I think you would enjoy seeing the old autographs. Here's the link: http://septemberviolets.blogspot.ca/2013/02/valentine-post-parts-i-ii.html
I love those boxes from Micheal's too and have a bookcase full of them, AND they actually have photos in them (far too many photos) before my camera was digital. One chore I never dealt with in my house purging last year.
Thank you for sharing all these little glimpses into your life Brenda ... enjoy the week ahead!
WendySeptember Violetshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10931133319044031928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-47061019664257695452017-02-17T07:06:49.542-07:002017-02-17T07:06:49.542-07:00I enjoyed relaxing and reading your post and about...I enjoyed relaxing and reading your post and about your daily life. But I must eat least comment on what you said about those autograph books...I had almost forgotten all about them...but, YES, I had one too! I not only took mine to school but I had so many siblings, they wrote in it too. I'll never forget what my oldest sister wrote... "You're a sweet kid when you're asleep, but who likes sleepy kids?" LOL! She really did love me, I promise! I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day! I just saw a picture of that cake somewhere, I think in connection with the Queen's 65 anniversary. Her favorite cake? Anyway, looks like something worth trying. The garden tour sounds wonderful!! We've been watching Victoria, and at one point I sighed and turned to my husband and said, I was born to be Queen. Haha! Or at least a lady of some standing. Can you imagine walking all those lovely gardens in a beautiful long dress and then coming in to a lovely tea all ready for you? And then saying, as Victoria did in the series one morning, I feel like going to Windsor Castle. And everyone jumps to and does your bidding! Well, such are the things fantasies are made of . . .
Although sitting with a cup of coffee and watching the birds in our own humble abodes is pretty thrilling all on its own.
xo DeborahDeborah Montgomeryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04366855994841922862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-7696258231787280212017-02-15T20:12:06.194-07:002017-02-15T20:12:06.194-07:00What a lovely post. I very much enjoyed your guest post about writing. I do love photo boxes for photos over albums and digital. In fact, I rarely look back on digital photographs, but often look at the albums or rummage through the boxes. Yes, there are odd ones out here. I think I would like that cake so will follow the link and several others as well. And your eleven year old friends made me laugh! How adorable you all must have been. Now I am older than you by a few and autograph books had long gone out of style in my corner so I never had one. I do have several belonging to my mother and grandmother. They are always fun to read. Tucked up in the cupboard are two, maybe three older photo boxes -- they house the love letters and greetings Rick and I exchanged in the very beginning of our relationship. I haven't read in them for years. And I kept every card we've exchanged over the years ... Christmas, birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, notes in between. Some were passionate, others were silly or funny, but they all spoke our love for each other through the thick and thins of life. Maybe for our 20th we'll bring them out, blow off the dust, and share some nostalgic moments.

Jeepers ... where did the years ago? It feels like I just started those boxes.

Brenda xox
Brenda @ Its A Beautiful Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02955486477303938670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-63844235834485121622017-02-13T17:38:57.381-07:002017-02-13T17:38:57.381-07:00Thank you for sharing these lovely quotes.
