Have you been to Debra Eve's Later...Hi Brenda. Have you been to Debra Eve's Later Bloomer blog? https://laterbloomer.com/late-bloomers/ She writes about the women you mention. Sue Shanahan writes about Susan Branch: https://commonplacegrace.com/2017/03/01/plp-2-susan-branch/

I'm a late bloomer when it comes to writing as well, but lately the muse has seemed to have left me which leaves me wondering what's next! I love your analogy in your guest post using the Black-eyed Susan, as I have them in my garden. It is my State's flower so prevalent here in Maryland. Perhaps I will be inspired by them as I see them in a different light now and help me find what's next.Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17103364860587388726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-44514149048725006782019-09-19T12:33:29.490-06:002019-09-19T12:33:29.490-06:00Sorry.....Brenda!Sorry.....Brenda!Elizabethdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02405703727112759947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-57045940070645445952019-09-19T12:33:04.279-06:002019-09-19T12:33:04.279-06:00Brendam you are such an encourager. It would be an empty garden otherwise, in our front yards and our lives. It was Grandma Moses who became my first inspiration many years ago (in my 40s and 50s) when I read that she first started painting in earnest at the age of 78. According to Wikipedia, she is often cited as an example of an individual who successfully began a career in the arts at an advanced age. And yes, we are in very good company with such fine examples for us from which to take courage. xoxBrenda @ Its A Beautiful Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02955486477303938670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-4637076820270382732019-09-19T09:33:18.666-06:002019-09-19T09:33:18.666-06:00Now that's a good question, Lorrie. We grew, we tried new things, we explored, we read and learned things, we lived. And oh yes, to your comment about gaining confidence to do things we wouldn't have imagined in our youth. Rudabekias are beautiful and worth waiting for! The fact that we have spring blooms, mid-summer blooms, and late bloomers makes for a well rounded garden which we get to enjoy much longer than a bed filled with tulips. So as far as that goes, I'm a late bloomer.
