I used to put baby's breath and dried roses years ago. I love white lights and have used them for decades now, adding deep red silk poinsettias and gold ornaments.

This year I thought I used coloured lights, so we'll see how that turns out.

Thanks for stopping by. There's so much stuff around; boxes all over the living room floor, the hassle of finding hangers and lights, etc. When the children were home, decorating the tree was a family event. Now, with just the two of us, we make our own traditions, and decorate together.

Looking forward to seeing your tree. Last year was the first in our whole lives that we got a fake tree. Whenever I look at it, my first inclination is to water it! Then, 'Oh yeah.' I do miss the fragrance of a real tree, and we usually put a real tree on our front porch. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead and a blessed Christmas! xoCranberry Morninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10758563068581561194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-40815212165159932512015-12-19T15:20:57.279-07:002015-12-19T15:20:57.279-07:00A tree-trimming party sounds great fun!xA tree-trimming party sounds great fun!xKezziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15705356707599121605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-15138437746358193312015-12-19T13:31:41.543-07:002015-12-19T13:31:41.543-07:00There is nothing quite so evocative as the scent o...There is nothing quite so evocative as the scent of a fresh pine treee.Elizabethdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02405703727112759947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-88799937911186208202015-12-19T13:14:00.151-07:002015-12-19T13:14:00.151-07:00Loved your post, as always. To me it is such a quiet, special time and I always enjoy remembering the ornaments and how they came to us.

One of the most beautiful naturally decorated trees I ever remember seeing was one of a friend of mine, when we lived in coastal Virginia. Ann was an extremely creative soul, along with being a fine gardener. In the late summer she began cutting and drying her hydrangeas. When it came Christmas, she decorated her tree with white lights, her hydrangeas and small pine cones. It was just beautiful! (She cut the stems of the hydrangeas short and just placed them in and on the tree)

I know yours will be lovely and will be looking forward to the pictures.

Merry Christmas,
SandraMaison De Jardin, by Sandrahttp://michaelslambiotte.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-19622030588573613582015-12-19T10:03:44.695-07:002015-12-19T10:03:44.695-07:00My daughter got married in October, so this is the...My daughter got married in October, so this is the first Christmas she hasn't been living in my home. She and I always decorated the tree together, and with her gone, I wasn't even excited about decorating this year. Alas, I decided to decorate on a day when she and her husband could come over (they live about a half hour from us). So, while the guys watched football, daughter and I decorated the tree and baked cookies. I'm sure that will become my new tradition.

I'm allergic to pine, so we have to use an artificial tree. I do love the fragrance of a real tree, but I don't like the headaches and congestion that go with it for me.

Can't wait to see photos of your tree.

Blessings,
PattiPatti https://www.blogger.com/profile/12931836399684850729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-41898083777624258022015-12-19T08:44:55.326-07:002015-12-19T08:44:55.326-07:00What a beautiful weekend we have to enjoy! I am not sure about the tree-trimming party - it might be fun if there were multiple trees to decorate and plenty of good food! I miss decorating the tree with my children - now it is just me and the Mr. and some very naughty pets who keep knocking down the ornaments! Looking forward to seeing your decorated tree. I'm sure it will be beautiful. xo Karen Karen @ Beatrice Euphemiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08631972741518142563noreply@blogger.com
