I never think of myself as a deep thinker, although I did give these posts a lot of thought. Sometimes I don't know what I want to say until I say it. And then it's trying to find a way to say it so it makes sense to someone else. There's the rub. :)Brenda @ Its A Beautiful Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02955486477303938670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-64877083951124714162022-02-15T10:48:53.843-07:002022-02-15T10:48:53.843-07:00You're so rights, Lin, books are so enriching....You're so rights, Lin, books are so enriching.Brenda @ Its A Beautiful Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02955486477303938670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-19349697082487107832022-02-15T10:48:23.809-07:002022-02-15T10:48:23.809-07:00Smiling back at you, Dottie! I hope you are both fully recovered and back to your good health.

I am with you about setting aside books that I don't connect with in the first 50 or so pages. I was so pleased one day to read a well-known author, name escapes me for the moment, make a comment on a reader's negative review of her book. She told the reader, for heaven's sake, don't be reading something you don't like. There are too many books out there to waste time on something you don't like. // I found that so appealing. So professional. If I remember the author, I'll leave a note here. (Jeepers, my brain must be on holiday this morning.)

Like you, I have enjoyed recent revisits of books I loved as a girl - the three you mention were favourites.Brenda @ Its A Beautiful Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02955486477303938670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-12976939788822721792022-02-15T10:32:08.411-07:002022-02-15T10:32:08.411-07:00I agree with you and Claude Monet...always and alw...I agree with you and Claude Monet...always and always when it comes to flowers and books.Brenda @ Its A Beautiful Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02955486477303938670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-69132483484373269622022-02-15T10:30:57.995-07:002022-02-15T10:30:57.995-07:00Thanks so much, Penny, for your note. xoThanks so much, Penny, for your note. xoBrenda @ Its A Beautiful Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02955486477303938670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017539925620642059.post-78719762828717359502022-02-15T10:29:36.107-07:002022-02-15T10:29:36.107-07:00Thank you, Sandi! I'm 'older' and I treasure collecting vintage books. I still go to Etsy and search through old childrens books and add to my collection. I didn't have books in my home when I was growing up but I went to the library frequently. And I love all kinds of books...but if they don't satisfy me, I stop reading them and go to another book. Isn't it so encouraging to get those affirmations that God hears our whisper-prayers and surprises us with his loving care, even or esp. in books! I relate to your statement, "It's time once again to sort my worldly goods—releasing what no longer meets my needs and deciding what will accompany me into the future." I'm in the process of doing that, as one of these years I'll need to let go of my house and move into a condo.

And books? I'm finding it hard to think of parting with most. They're like trusted and true friends--they've been there for me over the years, and I keep going back to them for wisdom and/or enjoyment.

God bless you in your new season!! It is a wonderful time of life.
