“Gratitude can transform common days into Thanksgiving, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” ~ William Arthur Ward
Ten Things I am Thankful For Right Now
1. My funny, kind and supportive husband - where would I be without you
2. My precious mom who has loved me like a mother bear for her cubs
3. My family and close friends who choose to love me just as I am
4. A roof over my head and having more than enough of the good stuff
5. The window by my desk from which I catch glimpses of heaven on earth in the garden, the birds in the trees, and our neighbour's roof-top (which reminds me I live in a peaceful, safe neighbourhood)
6. Freshly ground coffee and hot toast with peanut butter
7. The anticipation of turkey dinner with trimmings...and friends with which to share it
8. That I live in a beautiful country like Canada
9. For books, flowers, kitty cats, birds to watch, nice clothes, hot water, Google, laughter, peace of mind, health
10. For God -- whose Presence in my life -- fills me with Joy and gives my life meaning
Wishing my Canadian family and friends a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend!
Hugs,
Brenda

Have a blessed and beautiful Thanksgiving, Brenda! (I feel like having a Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow to help you celebrate. LOL!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Thanksgiving list!
ReplyDeleteA grateful heart truly is life-changing. Way back in December, 2003, my husband was 7 months in to what turned out to be 25 months of unemployment. It was at that very bleak time that the Lord prompted me to start a "thanks journal." Not thinking I had much to be thankful for at the time, I began with things like, "thanks for sight, hearing, etc." As I kept at the project, it began to change me. Within a few weeks, I was not only thanking God in the midst of the bleak times, I was actually thanking him FOR them...giving thanks when employment doors didn't open, etc.
I began to see the blessings I had, even the blessings of the difficult.
I would encourage anyone in the midst of difficult times to begin a gratitude journal, as it will change them.
Blessings,
Patti
I like your blessings, too! Happy Thanksgiving Day, Brenda.
