Losing Touch and Homesick

For me this is a cozy time of year.  Evening shadows lengthen so early now that I've been putting on the little twinkle lights on my fig tree.  And, I long to draw closer to the fireplace and snuggle under the warmth of a fuzzy blanket.

Funny thing is, I also get homesick for the cozy ambience of my study because I remember those early days of blogging -- this time of year -- when it was all so new and wondrous. Which now makes me want to snoop in my old postings to find links of former blogging friends, because suddenly I am homesick for these beautiful souls who impacted my life so richly at some season of my blogging journey.  How does one lose touch?

One desire over the coming days is to find some of them again and reconnect (if they are still blogging).  Tonight I was delighted to find Rebekah at Beautiful Days. And Cindy at Rose Haven Cottage. Their sites are as lovely as ever.

Here's to blogging friendships old and new!

  1. Good on you for looking for your old blogging friends. Funny how we just lose touch sometimes.

Looks nice and cosy at your home as we head into summer, over on this side of the world.

  2. I am SO glad you dropped by! My life has taken a turn inward since summer because of health issues, so I haven't had the joy of simply visiting all my blogging friends unless they come visit me to remind me. Thank you!

Your photo and post make me long for autumn here. We've had a wacky year with temps today pushing 100. NOT normal. I would love to feel the need to snuggle and get cozy, but nature won't let me. Yet the sun still gets lower in the sky. SO bizarre!

    Hugs to you!

  3. You have such a warm heart!
I hope you reawaken those friendships.

  4. it is sad to lose old blogging friends. I miss Caryn-she's just too busy with her life to blog but we do email and get together not enough!

  5. Oh this is something I quite often do...go looking for one that has been lost. All too often, I find that she has given up blogging. I so hate when that happens and pray that she'll begin all over again. I'm glad that you found two of your favorites.

  6. First, I think your living room is beautiful and cozy!
And I know how you feel about losing touch with some of those blogger friends who mean so much to us. I've seen it happen during the 4 plus years I have been blogging and it is always sad but it seems the way. I hope you can reconnect!

  7. Hi Brenda! Glad you found your "lost" blogging buddies! Enjoy!

  8. Hello, I think your blog is epic. Congrats.

  9. We do lose touch from time to time don't we, as life takes us over! A x

  10. Oh how lovely to find all your comments, and especially to Cindy and Anne. It's been a while. Nice to re-connect.

  11. Brenda, thank you for keeping in touch by your visits. I enjoyed my cup of tea with you (visually speaking) and always find a "coming home" feeling here.

    Blessings to you today!
