We Got Mail!

There was a nice surprise in the mailbox this afternoon. No, not money, although that shows up unexpectedly sometimes too. Today I found a copy of a small devotional book sent from Briercrest, the college I attended a long time ago. Last year they had contacted me, as an alumni, to see if I would consider contributing a short meditation for the book which would be later given to current students.

Today the little book arrived... with my piece in it. A small step perhaps, but for me it's meaningful. Because, ever since I came back from the writing conference in Red Deer with Don and Jon Nori of Destiny Image, I've been feeling like I'm standing on the edge of something new. And if I don't spread my tiny wings and start to fly, I have the feeling that God himself may push me out of the comfort of my little nest!

There is a version of it available here if you are interested in reading further.

Wishing you a beautiful day,

  1. That is so wonderful!!! Brenda, it doesn't come as any surprise that they asked you to write something fo them. I love your writing style...beautiful!!!

  2. read your piece and enjoyed it. Left this comment: comforting experience and I'm sure helpful to young inexperienced college students away from home for the first time.

  3. That is great Brenda! What a nice surprise!

  4. " ... on the edge of something new ..."

What a lovely (and scarey) place to stand. What an adventure. What a hopeful horizon.

I can hardly wait to see where you'll be spreading those wings, and how high. We are safest (and most content) when we soar with Him!

    Be blessed,

  5. Yee haw!!! Congratulations, Brenda! I will have to ask David to get a copy of this for me. :)

  6. Good going girl. That is wonderful. I am not surprised either. Your writing is professional.

  7. Hi Brenda, this is only just the beginning, I know your hearts desire has always been to write, so congratulations on this article .Keep Going ahead.
    Love you much MOM

  8. Congratulations! Now off to read the article! Thanks for sharing!
