Busy with some catch-up desk work this morning. Found a set of minutes I should have transcribed for the official record several weeks ago, but there they were, languishing under a pile of paper (that also needed tending). Got them done! And, I've been working on the latest issue of my newsletter. With September so close at hand, I can almost hear the wheels squealing into town.
So it's a sprint through my quote collection to find a nugget I've always enjoyed from Ursula K. LeGuin...
"We read books to find out who we are. What other people, real or imaginary, do and think and feel ... is a essential guide to our understanding of what we ourselves are and may become."
It's said perfectly. How many times have I struggled with something that I couldn't quite put into words, only to come across an author who, having travelled that way already, has captured the right turn of phrase to make it sound just right.
Wishing you a beautiful day,
