Simpy Sunday...

2009 by Brenda Colleen Leyland

I was out earlier in the day.
It's a perfect wintry afternoon.... cheerfully sunny and a whole lot warmer than yesterday... we're around -10C, instead of -30C!
Now I sit at my computer musing about what I should post today. Well, what about a good quote? Well, why not! There's nothing like an new good quote to inspire a person. In a way, they're like booster shots, those in between vaccines that boost your immune system. You don't need a whole dose of sermon or lecture, just a little something to lift a sagging morale or wearied soul.

No lengthy lessons or articles, just three little quotes from one of those 'old' guys, Martin Luther, a German priest who lived from 1483 - 1546.

So without further ado, have a restfully wonder day.

Meditatively yours,

On Reading the Word...
"God writes the Good News not in the Bible alone,
but also on trees, and in the flowers and clouds and stars."

On Faith...
"Faith is a living, daring confidence in God's grace,
so sure and certain that a man can stake his life
on it a thousand times."

On Hope...
"Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces,
I would still plant my apple trees."

(this one's for you, Leila Dear!)

  1. fun quotes from a famous person-lots of truth there.

  2. My favorite quote was the last one because hope springs forth.
Your blog is so interesting. I find myself returning for more reading! I'm eager to learn! And that soup! I'm going to try it very soon.
    You're a blessing!

  3. Lin, I always appreciate your visits to my site and for always leaving lovely comments to cheer my days!

Saleslady, I'm so glad to hear from you! Hopefully, you'll find things to keep you coming back.... Nice photo of you at your computer!

  4. Apple trees would be worth planting for the blosssoms alone. But the fruit... ahhhh food for the Gods. A love a crisp Gala apple, cold and full of sweetness and tang. Perfect! It's hard to come up with a fruit I don't salivate over. That is a marvelous quote!

I enjoyed this. Odd, I'd been thinking about doing the same thing. Just drop a few good quotes since my mind is such a junkyard these past few days.

Hey... if you don't mind, maybe you could wander over to my list of blogging buddies and click on "Cordell". I'd truly apreciate hearing what you have to say about it.

He is my son. He's a gorgeous young man who has poetry in his soul. I have three beautiful boys who are in their thirties, single and lonely. It is the heartbreak of my life. They, (and their sister) on the other hand...are my joy. Jewels in my crown.

Anyway... if you find a spare minute, I have the feeling that there would be salve in your words.
You would not need to leave a comment for him unless you felt impressed to do so... but, I would like to ask for your wisdom as someone who has great depth, but isn't so close to his situation.

  5. Caryn, I dropped you a note on your gooseberry posting..... thanks for allowing me to be a part of this, even as a fellow blogger...

To My Beautiful Readers,

Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same. ~ Franz Peter Schubert
