I Can't Come Out And Play Today!

2009 by Brenda Colleen Leyland

Yes, it's true, and it isn't because I've been naughty. In fact, I've been very, very good, but I have a large project I need to finish today.

I'll still be around at my computer.... but I have to think of you all from afar.

This is kind of what my desk looks like when I'm in the middle of something. I really hope it's true that the signs of a messy desk are the signs of a creative mind....

BTW, I received two new awards yesterday that I'm just thrilled about. I'll post them and also acknowledge my kind benefactors tomorrow. Till later then!

Joyful thoughts winging your way,

  1. thank goodness for computers. what would we do without them. it's hard to even remember the days of typewriters...although i still have my electric typewriter somewhere stored in the garage as an antique.

  2. Computers are the only way to type. I am the happy owner of a typewriter that was used by military personel at Pearl Harbor. I helped my grandson use it to type a report about the history of the old machine for school. It was so dang hard and took FOREVER to get the report typed up. He and I were both frustrated by the project's end. Mistakes are so easy to correct now... it was a nightmare on my old antique.

The typewriter I used prior to having a computer was a top of the line, wide carriage, IBM Selectric. Pretty nice for it's day... but I'd hate to think how much longer your project may have taken on it.

    Lin's absolutely right. Anyway...

Congrats on your much deserved awards. I received one and wanted to pass it along to you, but, I can't figure out how to do everything I was told to do
    to "play it forward".
