Things I'm NOT Doing Today

One thing I'm NOT doing today is blogging. Alas and alack... but there you have it. Sometimes when I fret about all the 'things' I'm not getting done, I'll joke that maybe I should put that on the list of things I'm not doing! Which, if you think about it, could become a most freeing kind of list.

Let's see, here's what's on my 'not doing' list for today. I am not:
  • washing the kitchen floor.
  • hurrying to finish a gazillion unrelated errands.
  • running my finger along the piano keys to check for 'you know what'.
  • cleaning out the freezer, the refrigerator, or the pantry cupboard.
  • doing tomorrow's jobs today.

There, now I'm free to focus on -- and enjoy -- the projects I do have planned for my day. I can live my day free of guilt and filled with the beauty of anticipation instead.

Whatever you do today, I hope you make it beautiful!

Brenda

  1. I had plenty of pasta salad left over from yesterday so I told the guys I wasn't cooking today (my son is going out this evening to grill at a friend's house).

But I did end up making pumpkin bars so he would have something to take with him. Plenty left behind, too... it makes for a more festive Holiday.

The rest of the evening will be spent in the AC, reading and not having to do dishes. :)

  2. Hi Brenda, hope you are having a good day and are enjoying having some time to play with your other writing projects. It does feel good to step away from the blog now and then! I've been watching old classic Jimmy Stewart movies with my husband and knitting away. It has been very relaxing. Have fun! Delisa :)

  3. What wonderful advice, Brenda! Why is it that when I sit in the yard, I manage to sit five seconds before I am up watering, weeding, cleaning up??? Move move move! It is not what I want to do, really! I want to sit quietly and think... But then the Puritan side says: Get busy on "gotta do" and not "wanna do!" LOL
