Simply Sunday: Love Came Down

Love came down at Christmas;
Love all lovely, love divine;
Love was born at Christmas,
Stars and angels gave the sign.
~ Christina Rossetti

I love this verse by well-known English poet Christina Rossetti ever since I first saw it in an long ago issue of Victoria magazine. Over the years I will often write the first and last lines on the inside of my Christmas cards -- two lines I never tire of saying or writing.

The poem was first published in 1885 and has been set to music. You can click here for the complete poem, which is all quite lovely.

On a different note, I just saw a short video on fellow blogger Sandy's blog called Christmas 2.0 - The Digital Story of Nativity. It brings the Nativity into our own modern day setting and brings a smile to my face I watch.

Wishing you a beautiful day,
Brenda

To My Beautiful Readers,

Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same. ~ Franz Peter Schubert
