A Cold Wintery Night

source: morguefile.com

My friend, Rosalie, send me an e-mail today with the following winter poem in it.

With the winds huffing and puffing this evening, unfurling sackfuls of powdery petals into the night air, I thought the weather matched the sentiments of this unknown Canadian poet.

So here's to frosty nights and humorous poets!

WINTER Poem
* * * * * * * * *

It's winter here in Canada
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.

Oh, how I love my Canada
When the snow's up to your 'butt'
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave my Canada
I'm frozen to the ground!

  4. Okay... so I'm guessing that this poet isn't the president of his local Chamber of Commerce. He's certainly not a member in good standing of the tourist council.

Great poem! Loved it! However I'm not too inclined to visit Canada until a month or two after your spring thaw...
